Why 1% for Del norte?

The Del Norte Chamber of Commerce has created a voluntary contribution program to benefit the DNCC's efforts for the town of Del Norte.

Because you love the town of Del Norte and you're excited about the possibilities for its future. Preserving and enhancing our town's assets (in the form of public improvements like signage and curb projects, trails and historic sites) enhances and adds value to real estate investments. Because you want to be the change you wish to see in our town, and you're ready to get real about making it happen!

     1% for Del Norte Business Partners

Participating businesses can choose to support the 1% for Del Norte program by adding a voluntary 1% contribution to the pretax retail, food/beverage, or service sale.  (Patrons have the right to opt out if they wish.) The 1% collected helps fund the chamber and its efforts to support improvements to the town of Del Norte, our trails, parks and community, arts and recreation, and promotion of the businesses and activities.

     Legalese

The 1% for Del Norte is voluntary and any patron can opt out if they wish.  Partnership and participation in the 1% program by businesses is completely voluntary.

The 1% contribution is specifically not a tax; therefor it becomes a part of the overall cost of the sale/service and is subject to sales tax.

     Promotion and publicity

We want everyone to be proud of the 1% for Del Norte program.  Look for partner businesses and contributing members to advertise with a window cling, rack cards, table tents, receipts, and QR codes.  Tell your friends about the program and we will too!

     What 1% is

1% for Del Norte is a program of the DNCC that allows businesses, organizations, individuals -- anyone -- to use a variety of methods to contribute to Del Norte.  This program helps fund the chamber and its efforts to support improvements to the town of Del Norte, our trails, parks and community, arts and recreation, and promotion of the businesses and activities.

     How are 1% and DNCC connected?

DNCC is a 501(c)6 entity to support business, economic development, and supporting Del Norte's growth and success.

The 1% for Del Norte is a program that helps fund the DNCC through partnerships with local businesses.  Businesses that choose to participate collect a 1% fee on sales or services and pass that through to the DNCC via the 1% program.

Businesses, organizations, churches, and  individuals are all welcome to support DNCC and the 1% for Del Norte program through annual memberships.  Membership contributions are payable via card or check and renew annually.
